35-1285 Record Changer Repair

Hi all! I'm new to this forum, but have been a Philco Collector for about 30 years. I'm currently working on a 42-1008 console with a non-functioning record changer. I feel pretty dumb about this, but I need to remove the turntable and can't seem to figure out how to get it loose from the changer mechanism. I've tried pulling up on it, but it seems to be firmly attached to the base. I suspect that it is fairly easy to get off. The Philco Record Changer Manual says only "remove turntable".
I suspect that this may have been covered in a previous post, but my searches haven't turned up anything useful.

On my 48-1256, there is a machined screw with a 5/16" hex head holding the platter on. It's screwed horizontally into the brass bushing that the platter spindle is in, ( underneath the changer base). Look and see if yours has a similar screw. This model has the cute, small 6" platter, and if yours has the same, it probably also has the same screw.

Jake - I don't see any kind of set screw. My turntable is almost 10" in diameter. I do see a nut at the very end of the spindle (underneath). I've been reluctant to remove it, because it looks like it holds a lot of stuff together, but will give it a go...

OK, let me try this another way...
I posted a different thread earlier this month asking for help removing the turntable on my 35-1285 record changer. I'm a little puzzled, because I got almost no response to the post. I know there are lots of people out there who have worked on the Beam of Light changers (although I will admit that most of the internet stuff that I've found on this subject was written 10-15 years ago). My changer is in a model 42-1008 code 122 console.
In any case, the problem is pretty basic. The Philco repair manual says simply "remove the turntable". I've tried prying, hammering, and cussing, and so far all I get is about 1/32" up and down movement of the turntable. I'm afraid to pry too hard, for fear of cracking the cast turntable or damaging the spindle. It's like there's a hidden c-ring or something, that keeps the turntable locked on the spindle. My suspicion is that the turntable is supposed to lift off easily, but has gotten frozen to the mating parts from years of rust or gummed up lubricants.
Everything else on the changer seems to be in surprisingly good condition (except for the rubber parts, which have cracked and fallen off, or have turned to sticky gum.
I any case, I desperately need advice, before I break something....

I don`t know about the 35-1285
but all the bol`s I had platter just pulled off they just sit on a pin
if you moved it try a little pb on shaft go up then down few times

I have one more idea on this.
Is the platter spinning freely? If it ISN'T, try pointing a heat gun at the bushing underneath to see if that loosens solidified lubricant that could be holding the platter on.
. . . although, frankly, I don't think this has been a problem with changers of this vintage. It is mainly known to affect BSR changers from the 70s.

Jake - Thanks for the suggestion to apply heat with a heat gun. I heated it for about a minute (from the top, aimed at the base of the spindle) and then used a pair of large flat-blade screwdrivers to pry up on the turntable platter. It took a little more force than I was comfortable with, but it did free itself from the bushing and popped off. Looks like it was held on by petrified lubricant. Nothing broke! What a relief! Thanks again, and thanks to everyone who responded.
I have done some basic tests on the Beam of Light arm, and so far it looks like everything works, but I'll have to do a lot of work before I can be sure. Every piece of rubber will have to be replaced, and there are lots of rubber parts on this thing...
