That's a beautiful 1938 chairside, congratulations!

It will take some rearranging. Icon_smile

That is a beauty!

I think the last large set I'd like to add to my collection would be a chairside. It seems such a natural way to blend the function of a radio with the form of a piece of furniture.

I don't hold with furniture that talks.

Hmmmm,.... gorgeous trim!   That semicircle is just right for it's function.
It looks like it has a downward-facing driver, ....or does it come with a remote speaker unit?

Great radio. What's best, the finish is great.

Congrats!

The speaker aims front, center, behind the "rings"

My wife likes it.

Everybody smoked back then!  I guess it was cool.

Very nice bud. Thanks.
What an elegant picture !

You sure do have a good looking wife.
Tell her to quit smoking though.

Nobody knew the dangers of smoking back then.

The dangers from smoking wasn't made public until the early 60's, I believe. Icon_evil

I took it to my antique radio guy this morning. He's giving it the full treatment electronically. I'm excited to bet it back in a few days, good as new.

You are lucky to have a good antique radio guy. I had a AA5 should be simple right, gave me fits. I have a few friends, very bright and good technicians, one of them took it as a personal challenge, worked on it for several hours and it was just not going to come back. He had "fun" with it he said trying to figure out like a puzzle, I would have put my head in the oven. I just remembered I have electric!
