Pot 33-5434
#1

Can you please tell me any specs on Pot. 33-5434? I’m not finding it in any of the Philco info, all i know is it the volume control. I’m not sure if it works but, it seems like a cheap enough part to replace and it’s a little rusty so I just figured I’d switch it out while I’ve got the chance

According to my Philco parts catalog the 5434 was used in a 49-504 radio. The parts list on the schematic for that radio calls for a .5 megohm pot. It also notes that the part number on the list may not be the same as the one in the set.

You'll have to cut the shaft to the proper length and shape to fit the knob.

I got my new 500k pot in the mail today from radio daze and I’m a bit confused on how it should be wired to my 42 PT-7.. It’s got the 3 connections on the side like the original has but it’s missing the two on the back that the original has. So how should it be wired? The pictures I took when I got the radio do me little good. Unfortunately the original volume control pot is seized up but, I’m keeping it until I know I can wire the new one

Best I can tell Radiodaze doesn't sell the proper control for your set. That's why I posted the link to a different supplier.

That’s my bad. Terry sent me a link to one a few weeks ago from someone else but, they didn’t have all the rest of the stuff I needed. I compared the one he sent me to the one at Radio Daze.. It looked the same in every way (even description) so I bought it since I had to order stuff from there already. Thought I was being smart, guess not

Yeah, that’s my bad Terry.. I thought I was being smart buying it there since I had to get other stuff from them. Looked the same in every way but, I guess not. Sorry i didn’t listen to you

Actually I stand corrected.. it doesn’t look the same, not sure how I missed that. Oh well, I just ordered the right one
