Philco 42-KR3 Color
#1

I'm working on a Philco 42-KR3 for a friend:

Somewhere along the line someone put a fake wood finish on it and the owner wants to return it to it's original 'white' color.  I think I read somewhere that it was ivory...can someone confirm that?

Thanks!

White - to match the white curved-top Philco refrigerators of the time. The "KR" series of Philco radios (41-KR, 42-KR3, 42-KR5) were made to be placed on top of those refrigerators, which is why the radios are curved at the bottom.

Thanks Ron - I ran up to the store and looked at some ivory paint and decided that couldn't be right...it's too off-white.  I'll pick up some white.  I assume it should be gloss, as opposed to satin?

Yes...if you want it to look original.
