philco F1540
#1

I "fixed" a philco F1540 out of a '38 Ford, and had it working quite well. I sent it back, and my "customer" could get nothing but noise. with an antenna attached. not much at all without the antenna. I have to think something broke or came loose in shipping and can only hope someone can offer a suggestion before he ships it back. he checked the resistances in the 3 front-end transformers. no open coils. I put in all new caps, and none of the solder joints appear to be loose. and I removed all the dead mice. Icon_biggrin

The set may of been dropped. I had that and need to replace cracked tuning unit frame. (Push button tuning unit).

You can probably save it using coils on the wire leads. Try unwinding a tad off each end of the rf coil.RodB — 09:47 PM
