Philco similar to 41-90CB
#1

Dear Friends
I have a Philco Tropic radio similar to the model 41-90CB, but mine has SW bands. This radio was working fine, but all of a sudden, it started to not tune in any AM radio stations
However, the aux input is working ok
What do you think it might be wrong?
I suspect a problem with inner antenna wiring
Thanks for your help
P.S. If anybody can identify the radio model, I'll appreciate it
Regards

Not tune in any AM station = no stations at all, rihgt?

Well, it could be anything. I doubt it is wiring: wires do not break off or desolder by themselves. It might be a coil or a tube from the RF section. Oscilaltor not working also = a bad coil.
So....if you could troubleshoot, break out your ohmmeter and buzz the coild through, and test the tubes from the RF and oscillator section.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

If you post a pic of the back innards was can sort out which set it is.
The determining factor is the power supply. DC, AC/DC, or AC.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!
