624B 6V Farm battery eliminator
#1

I've read a whole lot on the other forum about building an "A" battery eliminator for this radio. But the posts are geared towards the OP wanting to experiment and learn about the various ways to build a power supply.

But I am looking for an easy and cheap way to do this. Buying an existing product would be the easiest, but an ARBE III is an overkill, and way out of the price range. The radio needs an "A" supply of 6V @ 1.5A only. What's the best route to take?

6 volt motorcycle battery or other 6V SLA. Things will run for days on a charge.

I'm pretty sure I've got a rebuilt PSU for this set in my stash, rest of the chassis had more severe problems.

Thanks. I haven't even torn into the unit yet. Just wanted to make sure there is an easy and cheap way to power it (resale is my concern).

I guess the next question is what to use for the 3V bias battery (57A)?

Install a 2 AA or 2 AAA battery holder to replace it. If you use decent alkalines, they'll last for 10 years in that circuit..

Thank you, Benda Ann. I knew you'd have the answer.
