How are the steel clips that hold the speaker grille and plastic dial cover removed in a Philco 38-14 cabinet without breaking the bakelite studs?

How are the steel clips that hold the speaker grille and plastic dial cover removed in a Philco 38-14 cabinet without breaking the bakelite studs?

Use a dinky flat blade screwdriver to pry (bend) gently the tab of the metal clip that is contacting the bakelite post. Do both tabs till they release then remove the clip. Flatten clip out to reuse. If you are not gentle you'll snap the bakelite post off and say bad words...
When my pals were reading comic books I was down in the basement in my dad's workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to figure out what all those squiggly meant. Circa 1966 Now I think I've got! Terry
