RCA Livingston
#1

Well we had a very nice event last Saturday up in New Hampshire sun came out and everything....well attended. I had brought some things up to get rid of and said no more radios to come home.....Well A friend of mine had this RCA, in 1954 it sold for 79.95! Big bucks. I also needed a few tubes and happened to find this Philco branded one I had not seen before. So a pretty good day. The Radio is heavy, large speaker, transformer powered. Who named it "Livingston"? Too much scotch at lunch for the AD Department. Did not see schematic in Nostalgia AIr so will look around.

I will probably keep this thing the case is not bad but some spots on the top molding. "Starlight" tube? Some guy from Ford must have thought that one up.

Hi Paul, You will not be disappointed if you keep that RCA. It's a model 6RF9,9 tube, transformer powered powerhouse. I own 4 of them along with its earlier models, 1R81 and 3RF91. In my opinion the best American made tabletops ever made. The schematic is listed with the 3RF91. Good luck ,Bill

Hey Paul from the diagram it looks like a strapping set!  https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Ri...n-1955.pdf  pgs 83-85

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

The dial lights from both edges so should look god at nite. Inflation calculator sez 813.00 in todays dollars, hefty sum.
