46-200 Antenna glue?
#1

What sort of glue or whatever should I use to hold the antenna
inside the cabinet?

Where can I find a schematic for it? 46-200 code 121

Radio repair cement! It's like Duco cement but I has a bit of brownish tint(unimportant)and smells like nail polish (MEK). Love that smell!!

Thanks! Where can I find some? Radio Shack maybe?

I might have to settle for something from Wally World.

Don't know if you can still get it (Duco), cause of them darn crazy kids sniff the darn stuff. Just did a quick search and you can get it on line.
The diagram is here: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/591/M0013591.htm
Had one of those little set years ago. Cute little guy and play well!

Thanks!
Mine is a code 121, a little different it seems.
It has a field coil speaker and uses 35Z5,50L6, 7B7, 7A8 & 7C6.

Just discovered the OPT primary is open. Icon_sad

Sorry to hear that your transformer is bad. I've heard that a 120/6.3v transformer can be used in a pinch. 120v side to the plate the 6.3v to the vc. I've got a lot of odds and ends here.
Great that it has a dynamic speaker. The field coil does a much better job at filtering the b+ than a 1K resistor. With the resistor scheme it takes a lot of capacitance to overcome the 60cy hum. Usually you can still hear hum with the volume down no so with a capacitor input with a choke/field coil in the circuit.

I have several old OPTs from AA5's (50C5) just have to make a bracket.
Do you think 47-47mfd is too big? Hate to blow out the field coil. It had
a 20-20.

At least I know the oscillator is working. Icon_smile

Shouldn't be a problem. With a tube rectifier the dc output slowly rises as the cathode get hot. So there isn't that sudden burst that you'll get from a SS rectifier. Do check the cap across the opt to make sure it's not shorted. It could cost you another opt.

Thanks, I think I'll put this one back in a box for now and
try to finish the five other radios I have on the bench.

Well, I grafted another OPT on it, and it works..Sort of.
Very scratchy volume pot.
Also seems badly out of alignment.
Some motor boating too. Growls and scared my puppy.
Did pick up a few garbled stations.
No hum Icon_surprised

I'm starting to feel good about this one.

Got both ends of your loop antenna connected?

I stayed up late last night, til 3:00 am
Tweaked the i.f. trimmers by ear. Got rid of the squeals and distortion
had it playing very well for almost an hour. Then pop, nothing, just
static sounds. And the oscillator has quit too.
Still has B+ but is a little lower than I would have expected.
Oh well...

How low is the B+

I didn't write it down but I think it was about 113 or so.
I tapped on all of the resistors and wiggled all the tubes.
Got a lot of noise when I wiggled the 7A8 and now it is
working again. Very well I must say! Icon_biggrin It sounds great!
Now I need some knobs.

113v is pretty good! Time to give tube sockets a little dose of Deoxit and the volume tone control. Sound like you got everything under control.
