Philco 44 tuner drive
#1

Looking for a picture of the tuner drive on a model 44 set.  I received the set with the drive apart and am at a bit of a loss as to how it operates, Thanks for any advice.

Thanks, much! I did see this post and it is helpful. I was hoping to find a picture showing the interaction of the drives with the dial itself.

Here's a few pic's of one from a 16 code 121. It works like a small transmission where you pull out the tuning shaft and it moves the one of the rubber wheels. This changes the ratio that the tuning cap is turned by shifting the rubber wheel and it's contact point to a larger or smaller wheel. The small looking "gear" below the tuning shaft comes in contact with the rubber ring that is fitted around the outside of the dial thus driving the tuning cap. At the back end of the tuning shaft there is slot around it. That's where the spring snaps into, it gives it a positive feel when shifting.

Doesn't 16B have the same?

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Yes (that is, the 5-band Codes 121, 122, 123).
