Hello,
I'm from Belgium and speak Dutch.I will do my best to express myself in English.
I own a Philco 2620B radio which I would restore soon. The only problem is the escutcheon : the glass is still in great condition(no scratches) but the design (drawing) is missing in some places.
So, I'm looking for a good scan of the dial glass with the design to print it out on decal paper or with overhead transparancy paper to make a replacement.
Can someone help me?
Kind regards,
Karel

Hi Karel and Welcome to the Phorum!
Actually that one looks pretty good. On the American sets those where used in 1935-36. Some are alittle different as they have the blank spot for the tuning indicator (shadowgraph) Unfortunately I don't have any sets with that dial.
Good luck!

figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Many thanks Terry for your answer.
It looks to me that these dials where also used on the Philco models 610B,620B and 625B but I'm not sure.
I think The Philco 2620B uses the same chassis of the 620 but it is an export model for France. The dial scale indicates GO and PO.Although they were made for the French market,it is hard to find one here in Europe.
Maybe someone has a 610,620 or 625 and can make me a good scan?
Kind regards,

Welcome, Karel.
You are doing a fine job expressing yourself in English, no worries.
I used to have a 2620 exactly like yours. I don't know how it made its way over here to the USA, but I wish I had kept it. Anyway, if memory serves, I believe the 2620 has a long wave band as well as standard AM (medium wave) and one shortwave band. The USA 620 did not have a long wave band; it has AM (medium wave) and two shortwave bands.
I don't know if I have a 610 or 620 escutcheon around here anywhere. That is what you would need for your 2620. If I run across one that is in good shape, I will scan it for you. But I can't guarantee that I even have one.

Hello Ron,
Thanks for your reply.
You're right, the Philco 2620B has 3 wave bands.I saw it now on the dial scale GO (="Grandes Ondes"= long wave band),PO (="Petites Ondes"= medium wave band) and OC (="Ondes Courtes" = short wave band).
If you would have a similar escutcheon (scan),it would be fantastic!
Kind regards,
Karel
