Philco 46-1203 cartridge and needle
#1

I just got a 46-1203 and the radio works but is noisy. The turntable does not turn so I need to service it. I cant read the cartridge label and it has no needle. Can someone tell me what cartridge and needle to use? THANKS

Welcome to the Phorum, dstallworth! The information you are looking for is found in the Philco Radio Library located at the bottom of the page under service info. Both the chassis and turntable (D10) service are available. Hope this helps. In the future do not re-post threads if you don't get an immediate response. We strive to reply as soon as possible, but do not monitor the Phorum full-time. I deleted 5 duplicate posts! Take care and BE HEALTHY! Gary

Ok Thanks- my first post and it kept sending a message I could not read fast enough before it went off! Unfortunately it is not made any more and neither is the astatic 4a that took its place. But that manual is so much help!

Hi Dstallworth and welcome. A lot of Phorum members use thevoiceofmusic.com to service their record player. They are very helpful and responsive. They have kits to replace crystal cartridges with a ceramic one.

Yes, second that. Used it; Gary Stork is very helpful.
