1937 Ford Philco F-1442
#1

I've been working on a 1937 Ford Philco F-1442 code 122 radio. I have it working pretty well. I found a schematic on the web, but it is not exact. I think the code 122 means that some items have been changed. Inside one of the metal covers is a paper print of the schematic, but it is discolored and I can not read all of it, but I can see that there are some differences. So far I do not think I need any help repairing this radio, but I would like to find the correct schematic for it so I can replace the damaged one. Any Ideas? Thanks for the help, Mike

Hi Mike,

First off, welcome to the Philco Phorum!  A Phamily Phriendly Phorum Phull of Phine Phun Pholks and Philco Phacts (See a pattern here?  Please take some time to explore the Phorum and read the Phorum Rules, and "what not to post".  Remember to stop into "Old Ron's Bar and Grill" for a virtual brew and burger and to shoot the breeze about almost any "family friendly" non-political topic.  Please feel free to ask questions, we are all happy to help!

Attached below is the installation manual for your radio.  The last page contains the schematic.  I hope that this helps.

Unfortunately, there is no "code" number in the schematic.  While the "Service Info" section of our Philco Library has detailed info on "home" radios, car radio schematics may be a little sketchy.

I hope that you have the Ford to go with the radio.  I find the 1937 Ford to be quite handsome.  Wish I had one.

Thanks, while I was waiting I did find the installation manual. The schematic that is in it is the same one I found else where. One of the interesting differences is the cathode resistor on the rf and mixer tube. In the schematic that is in the manual, it is a 600 ohm resistor. In my radio it is a variable resistor and called a sensitivity control. I'd like to be able to see the rest of the damaged schematic, Thanks for the reply, Mike
