Philco Radiobar 528
#1

I am a new member here, and have a question about a radiobar. When looking at the reference in Ron's radiobar research he has it listed as a model 528 37-620 which is confusing. The chassis in the radio has the tube line-up 80/6A7/78/75/78/42/42/42. It also has an oval dial with 4 band 8" speaker and shadowmeter. The radio has doors over the radio with what appears to be 4 chrome? strips on each side. What do I have? and what chassis is this? Thanks....Don

What's confusing about it? It is how it is listed in the 1937 Radiobar brochure.

But I do know that Radiobar used some of the same cabinets for more than one selling season. As an example, the set Radiobar sold in the 1937 season as model 507-37-610 came with a model 60 chassis in 1936, possibly 1935 as well.

The oval dial was only used during the 1936 season.

Four bands, and the tube lineup you listed, indicates a 1936 model 650 chassis. But as far as exactly which Radiobar model you have, I can't say as I do not have any paperwork for older Radiobar models.

Thanks for the information MrFixr55.   It's tube amplification and not solid state. TOMfklown — 11:27 AM
