G'day all from Downunder.. Thought I'd jump on & introduce myself after exchanging a few emails with Ron & also to say thank you as he put me on the right path in finding the model & date built of my Philco Radio.

Philco (AUS) 1946 MIDGETTE 46-40

A little back ground on this Radio : It was given to me when I was 8, (Now 53 you can do the calc), & I recently rediscovered it in a box a my parents place it needed a fair bit of tender love & care.. Very happy to have my 1st Radio back working again.

Folks, if you click the second photo in the post above, you will find that it is a video of this set playing. I thought it was interesting that it segued from Australian announcers to an American rock standard by the Eagles.

That set looks very different from the American and Canadian made Philcos of that time period. In fact even the pre war Philco bakelite sets are different, similar lines overall but the speaker grilles have horizontal bars. This radio must have been an all Australian design, what was the tube/valve lineup?
