As my gramma used to say, the eyes are afraid, the hands are still doing it.
You're doing great.

Looking good Gene! Let us know what you use to draw in the grain with.

Quote:The veneer prices ARE from Constantine's. Didn't find anything on the bay. As was suggested, I will go down to the paint store and see about getting some artists paint to see if I can match it that way.

Do you mean here? This is the species and cut they used on that cabinet, price is per square foot

Laural Burl seems to be the closest that they currently have to the quilted blond wood they used in that cabinet, I assume it's maple, but it isn't the same.

Here is the right stuff on the usaul auction site: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quilted-Maple-Ve...1e6ee15ab2

Well it's been almost three months since I posted here. Some personal issues came to the fore and the radios went on hold. However I expect to be able to get back at it before cold sets in.

I decided to do the grain filler on the cabinet. I have it in hand and have read Ron's post on it so I am going to try it on a table model first and see how it goes.

In the meantime I have acquired some more radios......one I am very thrilled with was purchased today and I will post pics in a thread on it.

I came to this posting late (not sure how I missed it Icon_confused) but it is a wealth of information on cabinet restoration. I've been afraid to restore my 37-650, but maybe now I might attempt it. Your cabinet looks great so far and I can't wait to see the finished product. Keep us posted!

IF can wire size and Rubber mounts?
Renovated Radios do carry what you need. As for the voltage, a wire should be at least 300V-rated.morzh — 11:13 PM
