Need Help to ID this Philco Tombstone?
#1

Hello all,
I got this today at an estate sale,
No label?
the radio looks like a 5 tube
25z5, 43, the others are in the tube sheilds and I don't want to start pulling out as of yet.
there is no transformer but the plug on the end does seem like a regular wall outlet plug.
"Don't worry i'm not plugging it in!!"
Thanks
Rock

5 tubes, I think, would make it a 611B.

Now that's a real oddball!

That is a 630/635B cabinet...but Mike is right, the 43 output and 25Z5 rectifier match the 611.

Upon further inspection of Philco schematics of the period, the grouping of three electrolytic capacitors, plus those tubes, also point to the chassis being a 611.

Also, the grouping of the tubes in your photos seem to indicate it is a 611 chassis.

The only thing is...there is no record of Philco sharing the 630/635B cabinet with the 610 chassis!

Your 611 chassis, I see, has the "shadow mask" that illuminates the selected band, so it is a mid-season or later chassis. Earlier 611 chassis did not have this shadow mask.

I can't help but wonder if this is a 611 console set, since it has an 8 inch speaker, that has been put into a 630/635B cabinet?

Rock, look inside the cabinet...look at the left and right sides...is there a tube layout sticker that states what model the set is?

By the way, Rock, if you decide you don't want that set, let me know...I have a completely restored 630 chassis that needs a cabinet.
