Hi Guys,
Has anyone ever seen or heard of a model # 39-5505?
I don't know what tubes are in it.
Thanks,
Eric

Nope. Could be the p# for the cabinet or a foreign model. Got a pic???

No such model. Most likely, a part number for the tube layout sticker - a common mistake, given the fact that Philco often printed the part number in large numbers on these tube layout stickers from about 1939 on.

OK, now we're getting somewhere.
It could be any of the following:
38-38T (battery operated)
38-39T (operates from 6 volt battery)
38-40T (operates from AC or 6 volt battery)

So...don't keep us in suspense...which one of the four I listed did yours turn out to be?

It was just one I was looking at from a photo. One of the photos shows a power supply stuffged inside the cabinet so I think it is a 38-38T or 38-39T.
I'm going to pass on it.
Thanks for the help,
Eric

OK, I found it.

It's very cheap now at $13.99, but it will go up before the bidding ends.
And I think it's a 38-40T; that power supply sure looks like a 38-40 power supply. 38-40T models are not too hard to find and are neat little sets.
A side note: I see my Gallery has the wrong picture for a 38-22T which has the Cone-Centric mechanism like a 38-7T. I'll have to get that changed. I corrected my post above accordingly.

Last night when I was walking my dogs I looked up at the sky and the moon was BLUE.
Today we discover that the esteemed PhD (Doctor of Philcology) made a MISTAKE!
Is there a connection?
What does it all mean?

I'm sure now that everyone on the PHORUM knows about it the bidding will go up.
Thanks for the info,
Eric

Well, yeah; you did say you were going to pass on it.
Besides, someone else here (not me) may want it.

A little while back someone on CL posted a Philco console for sale as a model 39-5505. Although they said they weren't sure that was the model.
