Hi,
I am restoring a model 70 that has mahogany top and sides. I have several questions that I hope someone can answer. The front of the radio at the top seems to be made with a different type of veneer (I'm guessing walnut) . Mine is missing a piece of the veneer about 1 inch square and so I want to try and replace this missing piece, if I know what type of wood it was originally. Also , before I apply the toner to the bare wood, do I need to apply any sealer of any type? Lastly, the front at the bottom has some pieces that have several verticle grooves cut into them, 1 piece of wood on each side, that seem to have had a darker color put on them. Is this normal and how and what do I use to restore their original appearance? Thank you.
