I finally got one!
#1

A big surprise today after I tried to get this radio a year ago. The same guy who wanted the rediculous price for the Philco 70 had my friend working on a nice little 37-84 that I ha tried to buy from him over a year ago. While I was visiting my friend, the guy called and upon finding out I was there, sold the radio to me in working condition for a good bit less than he wanted for it when I tried to get it the first time. Other than needing the usual dial scale replacement, the rest of the radio is in good shape and preforms fairly well. The volume control has a touch spot near the bottom, but works fine for my needs. Congratulations Icon_clap - and it looks like it has a very nice photofinish, too, which is always a plus! Icon_thumbup

Thanks, Ron. The photofinish is what first caught my eye on this unit when I saw it sitting on a high shelf in the former owner's back room roughly a year ago. I carefully got it down and after a bit of dusting I was able to see it still had a nearly perfect photofinish with just a bit of normal wear around the volume knob.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Hello, Jay: that set is in nice condition! Well done!!

Thanks again, TA. I was lucky to have gotten it and it's one of the few things my family given me grief over this week thus far. Seems I'm stuck in one of those "I can't do anything the like" ruts right now.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Shoot... I've been divorced from my first wife for 11 years and it's STILL all my fault....

Nice one. I have one of those also. Good little 4-tube performer! Just like my parents had when I was a little kid.
