Very interesting site, thanks for the link. They even have schematics posted for some of the sets.

Reminds me of an RCA T-10-1
#5

Some Brand-Z radios look very close to that one.

In the first of that series of sets from 1937 the chassis is a direct copy of an RCA 140 from 1933-34, then the Soviets updated the chassis to use metal octal tubes but used roughly the same layout. It's funny because that design of chassis originated with the 1931 RCA and G.E models, which they discontinued with for the 1933-34 model year.

Hi ,
That reminds me .... I have the 1946 Minsk and could use a dial glass. Mine looks like a home done one. I must say that the picture on the site does not look like the correct glass either given that the Minsk is a multi band radio.

This one?

Yes Morzh,
That is the one. That dial glass looks exactly right. I did have conversations with Zenonas in Lithiuania some years ago . He was pleasant and helpful sending me the schematic but I have not located a dial glass . I guess the one I have adds character.
Thanks,
Henry

Here's the website in Canada, but in essence it is a Ukrainian website.
There are many pleasant folks there; unfortunately not many speak English, but Vlad, the guy who co-runs it, who is in Canada, he's fluent and may be able to connect you to someone who could possibly arrange something.

http://radionostalgia.ca/

You could write him.

This is his page
http://radionostalgia.ca/forum/memberlis...ofile&u=54

WHen writing look on teh left middle part of the screen for the words

"отправить личное сообщение" (send a personal message).
Write in English; he is in Kingsville, Canada.
