No Canadian model by that number that I'm aware of.
That's a Model 46-131, I believe you're looking for?
4 tubes: 1LA6, 1LN5, 1LH4, 1A5.
Or is could be a 42-131, also four tubes: 1LA6, 1LN5, 1LH4, 1LA4.

Yep, that's the Model 42-131.
A picture is not in Ron's original book.

Chuck,
Thanks for the info. Was this model rare?

Only 10,550 were made, so it's not a commonly found model and fairly rare. Originally introduced in the Jan-Mar 1942 season.

Thanks Chuck for the info. How hard would it be to recone the speaker or find a replacement?

Hi Chris
Did you buy it? Someone did...quite a bargain.
Being a battery set, the speaker is likely PM so replacement would be easy. Only problems would be matching the voice coil and mounting holes.

Well, at that price, I thought about picking it up...but I do not need it. Too bad you missed out. Honestly, though, I am surprised it lasted as long as it did before being snapped up.

Same here I do not need it either. Picked up a Philco AM/FM for $20 total. That will be it for awhile. I have enough projects for the winter now unless something special comes along

Renovated Radios do carry what you need.
As for the voltage, a wire should be at least 300V-rated.morzh — 11:13 PM |
