Telechron Clock on a 51-537
#1

Howdy:
I have a Philco 51-537 clock radio with a Telechron movement. It keeps time good.
Can someone explain how to set this alarm? Does this have a buzzer or does just it turn on the radio as a alarm?
Please explain the " Auto" function on the Auto/Off/On switch.
Also what is the Delay/Off for and is it used when setting the alarm.
I have been playing with this and unable to figure it out. Icon_crazy The "Auto" switch works the same as the "On" button as it switches on the radio. The Delay thingy just complicates the matter.. Maybe the dam thing just dosent work.
Thanks, Buzz

The Auto position is your alarm setting. If the time you have set for your alarm is too near the current time set on the clock, it will act as if it's just an "on" switch. I can't speak to the "delay" function, unless it's used as a "sleep" function (delays the alarm for another few minutes). Others will have better info on this. Most clock radios of the era did not have buzzer alarms, just turned on the radio.

Hi,
The 'delay function' is like where you want to hear the set play going to sleep, and it will turn off in a set amount of time. Usually up to 1 hour.
Countdown timer to turn the set off.
