Philco 37-84 feet and/or back?
#1

Hi all! Can anyone please tell me what kind of "feet" the 37-84 had and if it happened to have a back? Thanks So much!

Very few radios in that era had backs and the 37-84 was not one of them, if it was a 37-116 then it would have had a back. As for feet I think that it may have had short rubber feet that were tacked onto the bottom of the cabinet, some sets had thick felt pads rather then rubber ones.

Don't think it had either.

There was another kind that weren't really feet as such, but they were these round metal runners, about 3/8'' wide, with a felt pad crimped into the center, some were nailed on and some had a screw holding them on. If this set had those originally then they would probably still be there, they aren't the kind of thing that would just fall off.

It's pretty much always OK to get a set of tack like feet with felt or rubber bottoms for a wooden cabinet radio to keep it from maring anything it is placed upon. Look carefully for tack holes where the originals might have been, if there were any. Stick on felts usually don't work out well on wooden bottom radios.
