Which resistor? - 40-190
#1

While I am waiting for my replacement caps and resistors to arrive from JustRadios, I have been exploring the chassis of my 40-190 to make sure I understand which part I see corresponds to the part in the Parts List and in the schematic. Here is one that confuses me: it is a 1 meg resistor located between the volume control and the band control (see attached photos). It seems to be connected to a mica capacitor (#6)? The drawing with "Replacement Parts" does not show a resistor with that resistance in that location; the identified 1 meg resistors (#9 and #48) are not near that location. On the other hand, the schematic seems to show a 1 meg resistor (#9) attached to mica capacitor #6. So - which resistor is it? - My apologies if this is an obvious thing. Thanks - Roy

I believe you are looking at capacitor 6 and resistor 9, which are in the bias/agc circuit.

Thanks Brenda, that's what I thought. The Parts Diagrams shows that resistor and capacitor down near tube 1232, on the right side of the chassis.
