Is it possible to repair minor tears on the tan clothe of a Philco 42-380, short of having to buy the entire clothe? If yes, how? Can anybody help please?

I have the same unit, but I decided to replace rather than repair. The old grille cloth was so deteriorated, you could sneeze a hole right through it. But for less than twenty bucks, there are lots of options for replacement grill cloths. My question before I install the new stuff, what is the best method to adhering it to the backboard? I would think a spray adhesive would work fine, but I want to hear from somebody with experience before I possibly screw this up.

I use Locktite Spray Adhesive. 200 high initial tack. I like it because it has never seeped through the cloth.
