In the 40-195/200/201 series there are two capacitors in the push-pull audio output circuit, C72 and C75 both of which are listed as .003mFd and are rated at 1000 volts. I am thinking of using .0027 rated at 1.6KV. Would there be any reason to go even higher in voltage rating?
The audio output transformer on this unit was replaced with a Stancor unit. I suspect that one or more of these capacitors may be open or leaky. I have not checked for that yet, but capacitors like these used for voltage spike suppression are pretty important to protect the tubes and the transformers.
