Philco "mystery control" part

Can someone tell me what the piece of metal is with the tag on it in this Philco "mystery" control" which I labeled "unknown?"

Maybe a nut missing from the bracket just to the right of the tube.

Looks like the support bracket missing from the left side of the antenna coil. It should be a mirror image of the one on the right.

Might be the battery pack clamp for the left side. There are two similar clamps on the right side which hold down the battery.

Yes, battery clamp bracket. Mounts on the stud in the center hole position of the flat back edge of the bottom plate.

You can see the stud in your picture right above the word unknown.
The bracket springy end faces inward to the battery.
