Oh wow, great haul! Those look fantastic!

Is the 'Little Jewel' tubed or solid state? Really classy look.
#3

Skyscraper, I have not opened it up yet, but I do believe it is tube !!

The Westinghouse Little Jewel should be tube. I have one that needs gone through again and it is a five or six tube unit if memory serves. Looks like yours ended up with TV control knobs on it. Good haul all around though! Icon_biggrin

No matter where you go, there you are.

Little Jewel knobs are common.

Keep up the great work unearthing some nice sets, John!!!

I think your AK collection is better than when I used to specialize in them. .

As you know I got a lot of knobs, I'll look through them to see if any match but I don't remember any thick knobs or if you like any just PM me and Ill send them to you. Lets see $100 divided by 269... you owe me .10 cents each, Icon_lol you pay shipping though Icon_mrgreen

The little Jewel is a nice little. It was advertised as the little set that sounds like a console. 6 tube w/o a rf amp. The extra tube is to increase the audio gain as it has a negative feedback loop. This is what makes it sound like console.
Common issues bad speaker(rubbing v.c.) It's mounted next to the two hottest tubes in the set.
Warped dial. Some hot water and a flat surface will help you get it back in shape.
And all of the other common issues that old sets have. Working properly it sounds like the Bose Wave radio of it's day!

I've made some knobs for them using bondo and a bic pen. worked well.
Nice hall!!!!
Terry
