antenna connections for philco 38-8
#1

This radio has three terminals marked red, black, and ground on the back. What is the proper antenna to connect to red which appears to be for the am band and black for the shortwave band? I haven't found anything in the schematics or other product related data I've located on the internet.

Hi

The RED and BLK terminals are for use with the Philco High Efficency Antenna or other doublet antenna.

A simple longwire at least 25 feet in length will be better than no antenna at all. This is connected to the RED terminal, and will serve for AM and shortwave.

There should be a metal jumper connected between the BLK and GND terminals when a simple longwire is used.
