Cabinet problems

I was putting on the lacquer coat and I found that the lacquer was not stating in the grain of the wood. Now it looks good except for the finish on the top looks like it has open lines in the finish. HEEEELPPP on this. Icon_mad

Did you use grain filler? Sounds like you skipped that step. If you've only put on one coat of lacquer you could still fill the grain. In fact some fellows insist on doing it that way. Then apply your final coat.
