One 38-690 field coil much hotter
#1

Does one tweeter field coil on your Philco 38-690, or ones you have worked on, run much hotter than the other?  I was working on the alignment after cleaning the chassis today and noticed this.  I found that it is the tweeter field coil which carries the current which goes through the main speaker field coil to ground.  What do you think?  Here is the schematic:   http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/255/M0013255.htm
