ok to strip?

Dumb question, but I'll ask anyhow

I have what I think is a 52 cathedral.
Some jackass thought the cabinet needed improvement..
Want to see if these were photophinish at all.
Too early a radio for photophinish I think.

Great news from Ron. That radio can be saved with a lot of stripping and refinish. Nice looking little cathedral.

 One more thing though, use proper paint and varnish remover to strip the cabinet, lacquer thinner and acetone are not going to cut it this time. However the lacquer thinner and acetone are good from removing residue after you get the paint off. It looks like someone in the 1950s or 60s had a go at "Antiqueing" this poor model 52, that was the decorating trend of doubtful taste from that time, tackiness didn't begin in the 1970s you know.
