While it has not been reconed, (is this what's expected from a pro?) - what's really so egregious about the repair?

I don't know, I'm not a professional. But when I repair a speaker with a white patch, I color it so it doesn't stand out. He could have said, "Somebody patched it for me".

looks like it had a voice coil that was removed,  probably where that hole come from
if he`s a pro maybe we all are  and don't know it Icon_clap
