Battery for Philco portable
#1

Dear fellow Philco fans, I have recently aquired a great little Philco portable, model 50-621, which looks like it will only need the usual recaps, very clean interior. I would like to know if any of you out there have this particular model, and if so, does anyone play this model with a battery equivalent? it would be great to have this radio be truly portable again, as I know the original battery hasn't been made in years. I've seen new battery packs offered for Zenith T/O's which use D cells, or even AA's. Does such a remanufactured battery exist for this model Philco? Thanks for any info. BOBC, Cincinnati Ohio

A memeber of the forum here has a business/hobby of making replacement A and B battery packs. I'm sure you will hear from him pretty soon. Someone else may know his username or E-mail.

The radio you have uses a P-363 battery, which is a rough cross to an Eveready 756--7.5 and 9 volts A, 90 volts B.

It's a small pack, and the largest batteries I can fit for the A section are AA batteries. The B section uses 10 9 volts.

Pls feel free to PM me if you're interested.

Bill
