How I spent my Saturday afternoon....

....restoring this 1948 model 48-461!

As far as restorations go, this one was fairly easy and pretty straightforward. Resistors and tubes all checked good, so basically, a recap was all it needed to get it singing again. It plays great, too. Once I had the chassis completed, I had it playing several hours while I tackled the cabinet. This is one of those Philcote sets, and thankfully, it was mostly intact. Just requiring a little touch up work where it was chipped. Of course, the finish is full of crazing if you look close, but not much can be done with that. I did repaint the trim and knobs, a rather tedious process. All in all, I'm happy with this one and will more than likely add it to the stable.
