Philco High Efficiency Aerial
#1

Hi everybody! I am starting to gear up for the restoration of my 37-116 standard. Being a high performance radio, I thought I would try to optimize its reception. I have seen Philco High Efficiency Aerials listed on Ebay from time to time and am wondering if this is the way to go. Can these be mounted indoors or are they made to be outdoors? I am hoping to set up some type of antenna system indoors, but maybe that is not the way to go. Also, in trying to read up on it, it sounds like some of the rubber pieces might need to be replaced and does anybody know if these types of parts are readily available? Thanks so much!

Peter........I use a copper wire erected in my attic the length of the house and I get all radio stations all over the globe! And the copper wire cost me all of $7.00! Try it you will be surprised!

That is a great idea. What gauge of wire did you use? Does it matter if it is near the outside of the house or not? Thanks!
