I think my radio is a 1930 model 77 but read that there are about three years where the were identical in looks to other years, how do I know which mine is so that I can get the right part? I'm a newbee and trying to save my grandfather's radio. Thanks!

Hi, and welcome!
If you go to Chuck's website you can look up the Philco models which have a tube layout identical to yours.
Look especially at Models 77 and 96.

Thanks Ron!!! So far, it's looking like it's a model #77 because there are 7 tubes but got to move the metal heat defector thing that bends over the tubes before I can tell the other tube #'s. If it really is a model 77 why would a replacement transformer have 2 additional red wires?
