Interesting Adapter on Philco 16B Shouldered Tombstone

I've read that it is fairly common to find an older 16B chassis in a newer cabinet for the tombstone models. I haven't seen mention of this part before and thought it might be of interest:

   

   

It's basically a small wooden donut that sits in the tuning knob shaft hole. This prevents there being an obvious visible gap. Mine came with at code 121 chassis BTW.

Not sure if it's factory original or not but seems like a nice touch.

It looks like maybe who ever drilled the hole was off abit and fixed it like that to save cabinet and so he would not get in trouble with boss man. Icon_think
