I just got my old Knight 600 Tube Tester back today from the shop. After a couple hours of work, the guy managed to find some solder connections that had gone bad and redid the, allowing the tester to fire up the tube filaments again. Cost of the work, $10. I got it calibrated this evening and it works better than before, though it still HATES type 26 tubes. Still, I have a tube tester again! In the meantime, I also picked up a box of tubes and parts that happened to have a nice, complete Heathkit TC1 tester along with its charts and the model B16 adapter buried at the bottom. It comes on, but tests all tubes as wither weak or bad. A quick check inside shows a toasty, crumbling resistor and a wax capacitor that will need replaced. Will have to go through the instructions for the values and how to re-calibrate it.
No matter where you go, there you are.
