Fabric Covered Power Cord
#1

What Philco model years would a fabric covered power cord be appropriate? Also, what type of plug would go with the fabric cord?

There are a couple of lamp parts suppliers that offer a non UL rated 18/2 Rayon cord by the foot or with antique style plug.

Thanks

The plugs are the standard roundies and many have neat designs on them...

Make sure it is not a Resistence line cord...
If there are 3 wires running into the chassis then it is a RLC and needs special hookup.

I use cloth on any radio that originally had it but late 20's -mid 30's seems to be the time frame that many of my radios had cloth covered power cords...

1928 through 1936, as well as the earliest production of 1937 models. It was during the production of the 1937 models that Philco switched to rubber zip cord.

The cloth-covered cord used was brown, as was the rubber zip cord.
