philco 90 tuning cap stuck
#1

Hi , I picked up a Philco 90 this weekend and in checking it out I find the tuning cap is stuck in the fully closed position.  When turning the knob the the dial moves and there is a click noise but the cap itself doesn't move. it's almost as if it was turned all the way to one end too much and became undone.
  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
                          Thanks,

The caps in these radios are readily disassembled upon taking the dial assembly off. There is a couple of clips that hold the rotor down. See if it simply gummed up.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Check the set screw on the dial.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

After a couple of tries being careful not to strip the screw head .... I can adjust the tuning cap! I'm really glad cause I didn't want to remove it.
Thanks again for the assist.
Henry
