Howard 901AP Radio/Phonograph
#1

I picked up this Howard 901AP radio/phonograph sometime last year.

It was not in great shape with the top of the cabinet broken and some small pieces of it were missing.  I primarily got it so I could try working on the phonograph having never worked on one before.  I did not post progress along the way so here is the link to the RESTORATION NOTES for anyone who is interested.
The new piece for me was rebuilding the crystal cartridge.  I used a combination of Syl’s technique and that of a fellow, blackjack6934, on Youtube.  I’ll post the pics I have of the rebuild although as I mention in the notes, I forgot to take a photo of the fully rebuild cartridge before closing it up.   I was successful in being able to play records.  I’m uncertain as to how close the sound is to what it was originally, probably not as good but I’m happy it plays at all.
