Got a 60b that the veneer on the sides and top is toast. Gonna remove all of it. What would be close to the original? I know the finish was 2 tone walnut, but is the veneer walnut as well?

Yes, that's the one. But going through that thread seems to indicate 1/32 thickness. Mine is paper thin. Of course, that's not ruling out that this may be the second time that it was replaced, or that it was sanded a bit much. This radio was subject of someone's half a$$ed cabinet work before and it's now really dark with gloss poly on top.
