Dial pointer

Hello,
I am rebuilding 2 Philco 34-87 sets neither one came with a station indicator dial Pointer looked on radio 
Museum and from the looks of the pix they don't have one if that's the case why have a dial scale?
Any one have an answer?

You will most likely have to cement the pointer to the dial shaft like I did... it didn’t fit snug in the splines but rather slipped over them...
