What colors were used on the Philco 16RX cabinet?
#1

I need to know the original colors so I can give it a factory finish.

I honestly dont see much contrast??

What do you guys think? There are many photos on google but here is one I think may be original.

Any help is appreciated...

I think it doesn't have much contrast because it's been refinished. Note the PHILCO decal is facing the wrong way. Dial goes toward the user. It's too lite.

Thats what you were talking about! I just got the reference about the decal. Darn it.... Who would purposely make it dull and boring?

I think it has been refinished as well. There should be toning and shading on the sides and feet at least.

Personally, I would look at sets from that year, and go with similar colours. The Philco Radio book shows it being darker, with toned feet.

Here are some pictures from The Book: Sorry for the terrible iPhone pics...

Speaking of..are you sure it is RX model?

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Thank you for the photos. I have the feet in original condition but they are not toned like the speaker cabinet. I'll have to do some research but really it is whatever Terry wants. It's original colors are here.

I think the strips on the sides are toned as well as the 2 end speaker grills. Possibly the rim around the radio and the rim around the controls. Then the feet?

What do y'all think?

You talked me into it here's some pics of the spkr cabinet.
Bada** ain't! Unfortunately top center section has some water damage
and will need replacement veneer. The rest is pretty good short of normal
stuff.

You could easily glue down that ripple Terry...

I cant believe you dug it out so fast! Icon_lol

I get the color scheme now.. Are you good with it? If tomorrow is nice I want to start toning. Feet wont go on until they get toned.
