920 Auto radio
#1

Does anyone out there know what the original price was on the 920 Transitone was ? I'm trying to complete a Philco advertising display sign I have that acually uses a auto radio, 920 looks close.

The 920 sold for $24.95 when introduced in June 1938 for the then-new 1939 season.

I have original prices for the other 1939 models if that will help.

I think this is the radio I'm looking for ! I have a metal Philco auto radio display , it is a mock up of a late 30's automobile dash, with an actual working radio mounted to the mock dash [radio is missing] the sign says $24.95 I have to get my sign out of storage and meassure it but it sure sounds like this is the radio, I think it with make a NEAT display, THANK YOU, BILL
PS
Would the PHILCO PHORUM like a picture of it when I get it done?

You can probably save it using coils on the wire leads. Try unwinding a tad off each end of the rf coil.RodB — 09:47 PM
