640B veneer strips on front panel
#1

I'll be getting a 640B tombstone that has some small missing pieces of veneer on the front panel. From the pics I have of the set one piece is missing on one of the small dark strips that run vertically. I'm assuming most of the veneer is walnut. Are these strips also walnut that have been stained darker or are they a different species of wood?

BTW, thanks for all the help with my past questions. It certainly has helped in restoring some of my ongoing projects.

I'm afraid I do not know what kind of wood this is. All I know is that it is VERY soft, and is easily damaged.

Edit: Doug Houston says it is ebony wood.
