No HFO, Mopar 802 / Philco C-4608
#1

No Heterodyne Frequency Oscillator signal from stage V2. Try swapping V1 with V3, or replace V1.
#2

If I remember correckutly, V1 should be the RF stage, and a 7A7. The oscillator-mixer is the 7B8, which couldn't be swapped with a 7A7. It might be well to try another 7B8, and it may cure the problem. But I wonder if possibly a mica cap in the oscillator circuit might have gone bad. My own experience with those sets has been that there is rarely a problem with the oscillator.

I can go to my books and see what the circuit is. The set is the same from 1941 through 1948.
